Thank God for old friends who know just what you need when you are feeling kind of down. Alicia just came by (bearing an iced coffee, i might add). It was really thoughtful of her. I have been kind of sick the last few days and I came home from work really tired today. So when she called up and asked how I was, then heard the tale of my day, she decided to drop by and bring me a treat. It really cheered me up. I think there are people like that every day. Like the friend I talked to the other day. People that just stand out in your mind for being so thoughtful and considerate, or for just the fact that you had a great conversation with them. And whether they know it or not, these people can totally change your day for the better. That's why its so important to be kind to everyone. You never know if you are going to be that person for someone. If you are going to be the person that really "makes their day".

So I was watching VH1 tonight (not a great choice, but it beats out the evil MTV any day) and the show "The List" came on. Now there is not a whole lot to the show, and I probably would have just kept on channel surfing, if it had not been for the category of tonight show. I have always looked at life like a journey. A journey that you had to go on by yourself, without the aid of anyone, or anything else. However, despite this solitude, there are always others who will cross your path, and for a time, be it very long, or very short, they share the same road. You experiance the same tribulations, help eachother around the obstacles-just provide good company. And sooner or later, your paths will diverge and each will go their own way, making for themselves an individual and very solitary road. My somewhat cliche metaphor for friendship. so tonight is the night. the first of my three drama performances. it's a pretty exciting ( and frightening ) prospect. for one thing, our rehersals have been ridiculously unproductive and hardly helpful. there have been problems with everything from getting props and organizing ticket sales to publicity and lighting. but the biggest problem has been the overall apathy of all of the actors. people were neglecting their scripts, not learning lines or blocking, and that was the part that was really discouraging. i mean, we all auditioned for this, and we are supposed to set a standard-a higher caliber, you know? and yes, i do admit that the play isn't the most engaging and interesting piece that we could do, but it is still worth doing well. no matter what..."the show will go on"...so we might as well do the best we can. but anyways, enough with that. our dress rehersals have been looking up, and i am actually very optimistic about tonight's performance. everything ...
